While vacationing in South Florida, you’d be well off to know a bit more about all the enticing Miami excursions. From day trips to Bahamas to tours of America’s Venitian canals, the City of Palms has a little something for everyone.
Let’s take a look at more fun Miami excursions for every tropical vacationer.
Here are our 10 favorite Miami Excursions
Here is a list of our favorite things to do in Miami and a few Miami day trips which are made extremely convenient:
1. Swimming with Pigs in the Bahamas
The Exuma pigs in the Bahamas at Swimming Pigs Island are the most lovable attractions in the exotic Bahamas — which is closer to Miami than you would think.
That’s right, you can reach Pig Beach Bahamas near Staniel Cay within an hour. That’s why over 6 MILLION people visit the Bahamas pigs each year and that number continues to grow year-by-year. Swimming with the pigs has never been as convenient as it is now on any number of Bahamas day trips.
The Bahamas swimming pigs are one of our favorite things to do near Miami.
2. Take an Everglades helicopter tour/ flyover
An Everglades National Park tour is a must and we believe the helicopter tour is one of the most exciting things to do in Miami Florida.
3. Go crazy at Orlando’s famed amusement parks
Whether it is Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, Orlando’s Legoland, or any other great family amusement park that makes Orlando’s reputation what it is, a trip to the city is certainly one of the best Miami excursions we can think of. Discover a full list of theme parks and attractions in Orlando.
4. Have a day under the sun at Daytona Beach
Though it is about 4 hours north, it is still well within a drivable distance. And we highly recommend it. Daytona Beach is one of our most relaxing things to do near Miami.
5. Tour Fort Lauderdale (The ‘Venice’ of the Americas)
Fort Lauderdale is so near to Miami, it would be a shame to not, at least, pay the Venice of the Americas a visit. Walking or riding through the canals is one of our most memorable Miami excursions.
6. Get a day pass to Atlantis Resort Bahamas
Atlantis Resorts of Paradise Island in the Bahamas is one of the Miami excursions we recommend most. You can’t imagine the limitless possibilities you will have in the world of Atlantis Resorts.
7. Hit the overseas highway to Key West
The short drive down the sea bridge highway makes for one of the most unique places to visit in Miami (around Miami). You won’t believe your eyes as you drive over the crystal clear turquoise waters.
8. Fly around Miami’s skyline in a helicopter
We truly believe Miami’s skyline in a helicopter — especially at sunset — is one of the most romantic things to do in South Beach and it is absolutely necessary for couples on a weekend getaway to this Florida paradise.
9. Speed around Daytona International Speedway
Take a tour, drive around the track, learn about the history of the races; we would consider Daytona International Speedway one of the ‘musts’ for places to visit in Miami.
10. Take a dip with reef sharks at Compass Cay
It is so convenient, nowadays, to get from Miami/ Fort Lauderdale to Bahamas. The Compass Cay sharks are the perfect day trip to Bahamas from Miami. Plus, since Big Major Cay is so near, you could couple your Pig Island tour with a visit to the Compass Cay Marina for the most unforgettable of Miami excursions.
